Multi-instrumentalist Lance James performs "smooth jazz with an
Afro/Latin Groove" at art center's monthly series.

2, 2007- The Green Street Arts Center hails the return of "the
musical warrior" Lance "Kamau" James to its monthly In the Limelight
Series. A talented multi-instrumentalist, James bring his blend of
"smooth jazz with an Afro/Latin groove" to the arts center on Friday,
March 16th at 8pm. Performing alongside him will be James Walker
(electronic vibes/percussion), Nick Longo (percussion), and Jerome Bewry
(percussion and piano). Admission is $8 and $5 for Green Street members.
The In the Limelight series is a monthly opportunity to see music
and performance in a relaxed, social setting. Green Street Arts Center
is located at 51 Green Street in Middletown. For more information or to

Lance "Kamau" James [pronounced Kah-MAH-oo], Swahili for Musical
Warrior, has had an extensive and successful career in the music
business as bandleader, performer, composer and manager. He has
performed with several bands, including the very popular group People of
Goodwill (www.peopleofgoodwill.com.)
Among Lance's many compositions his reggae version of "Billie Jean" is
what put him on the map (vocals Bernard Jackson, formerly of the band
Surface). Other noted hits include: Calypso Caliente, Follow The Leader,
and Sunrise (Sunset). Lance directs choral, jazz ensemble, and African
drumming programs at the Green Street Arts Center.
