Apply today for the 2017 K-8 Math Institute!

The Institute is funded by a State Math and Science Partnership Grant and managed by the Green Street Teaching and Learning Center of Wesleyan University. The Institute includes the Intel Math content course this summer, several follow up workshops on teaching practices and arts integration strategies during the coming school year, and open invitations to our math community potlucks throughout the year.

Intel Math is an intensive, 80-hour, content-based course that requires full participation including take home assignments. The course is designed for you as a learner to deepen your own understanding of the K-8 math content and connections between concepts.

Hamden, Vernon, and New Haven ONLY

This summer we will offer two Intel Math Courses as part of the MSP grant. Both will take place in Middletown, CT (more information to follow on acceptance). Each day the class meets for 8 hours, including a short break for lunch. You will need to plan on bringing your own lunch with you for the duration of the class. Completion of the Intel Math summer course includes a $2,000 stipend for participating teachers.

Class A: July 10 - 21
Class B: July 24 - August 4

Please call Green Street with any application questions, 860-685-7871.

Application deadline is February 28th, 2017. Participants will be notified of their acceptance by March 31st at the latest. Each class has 30 seats. So there are 60 seats total available (25 Hamden, 10 Vernon, 25 New Haven). If we have more applicants than spaces, we'll work with your district math coordinators to make final decisions. If selected to participate, you will need to fully commit to the Institute - this means complete attendance, homework assignments, and tasks for the evaluation of the project throughout the school year.
