What is the online alcohol
assessment?
The online alcohol assessment is an interactive web survey that
allows Wesleyan students to enter information about their alcohol
consumption patterns and receive individualized feedback about their
use. The assessment takes about 6 to 7 minutes to complete, is
self-guided, and requires no face-to-face contact time with a counselor
or administrator.
Who created the assessment?
The assessment was created by the Counseling Center at San Diego
State University. It is in use at more than 195 universities and
colleges across the country. The assessment is made available to the
Wesleyan community by
Health
Services and
WesWELL,
the Office of Health Education.
What does it do?
When you access the assessment, you are prompted to enter information
about yourself. It will ask you to enter information about your
consumption habits, demographic information, and to complete the World
Health Organization's Audit. After all information has been entered, you
submit the form. The information is then validated and processed. A
number of variables are calculated and your responses are compared to
national college norms. Then, your personalized feedback is displayed in
standard HTML format.
