Students wishing to inquire about the IUD as a form of contraception should review the following message:
- If you desire an IUD for contraception after making an informed decision for this (usually after a discussion with your health care provider who has reviewed all appropriate options) Davison Health Center will provide you a list of the local gynecologists who provide this service. If you are considering an IUD but are not completely sure that this Is the method you want, we advise you to make an appointment with one of the DHC providers to discuss all appropriate contraception options. If you then decide that you desire an IUD, DHC will arrange the next appointment with the appropriate provider. A gynecologist who provides this service will usually meet with the patient 2 to 3 times. The first appointment would be to discuss the procedure in detail, do an exam and any indicated labs. The second appointment is usually for the actual procedure and the third is a check-up after the procedure.
