Smoking Cessation Options
You Can Quit!

The staff at the Davison Health Center would like to assist students
and staff who want to quit smoking become smoke-free.

about the following quit options, which are facilitated by a trained
smoking cessation counselor:

Individual Support:

  • For students and staff interested in quitting on their own.

  • Meet one-on-one to develop a personalized quit plan. 

Group Support:

  • For students interested in quitting with friends and enjoy group dynamics. 

  • Meet as a group and learn techniques that will assist you and others through the quit process.

  • Freedom From Smoking 7-week program will be offered for students and staff if enough interest (separate programs).

Residence Hall or House Program:

  • Ask your RA or HM to plan a program for smokers and non- smokers to learn self-help quit tips and how to be supportive for someone attempting to quit.

All support programs focus on:

  • Readiness to quit

  • Preparing to quit

  • Addiction to nicotine

  • Nicotine fading

  • Planning for smoking triggers/cravings

  • Stress management

  • Nicotine replacement options
