Wesleyan credits for AP and IB exams in History are activated by successful completion of courses taken in the Wesleyan History Department, as follows:
AP Exam in American History with a grade of 4 or 5
Complete any History course
(not necessarily American) numbered 151 or higher with a grade of B- or
better.
Wesleyan credit = 1.00
No credit is given for a grade of 3.
AP Exam in European History with a grade of 4 or 5
Complete any History course
(not necessarily European) numbered 151 or higher with a grade of B-
or better.
Wesleyan credit = 1.00
No credit is given for a grade of 3.
AP Exam in World History with a grade of 4 or 5
Complete any History course
(not necessarily World) numbered 151 or higher with a grade of B-
or better.
Wesleyan credit = 1.00
No credit is given for a grade of 3.
Two AP History Exams with grades of 4 or 5
Complete any two History courses numbered 151 or higher with grades of B- or better.
Wesleyan credit = 2.00
No credit is given for a grade of 3.
IB History Exam, Higher Level with a grade of 5, 6, or 7
Complete any History course numbered 151 or higher with a grade of B- or better.
Wesleyan credit = 1.00
No credit is given for a grade below 5 on a Higher Level exam.
No credit is given for a Subsidiary Level exam.
Note: The History Department has decided that it does not accept A-Level exams for credit.
