The <b>Wesleyan Writers Conference</b> is an intensive program of seminars and
individual manuscript consultations offered by a faculty of award-winning
fiction writers, poets, screenwriters, and journalists. Established in l956,
the Conference is held annually the last week in June on the campus of Wesleyan
University. Both established and new writers are welcome to participate. Recent
faculty and guest speakers include Robert Olen Butler, Jane Smiley, Joyce Carol
Oates, Henry Taylor, Dana Gioia,and David Halberstam. Scholarships and teaching
