http://www.sph.umich.edu/hmp/sep/

The Health Services Enrichment Program runs for ten weeks at the University of Michigan. The program gives students the opportunity to experience first hand the field of public health. As a participant of the Health Services Management Program I learned valuable information about the health care system and the dire need for underrepresented minorities in the field of public health. My placement was at an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) working with the vice president of research and planning. This program is for anyone who is interested in minority health/ healthcare issues, hospital administration or even those considering a career in medicine.
