Professor Donady received the following news from Lorraine Binns '01 after her
graduation from Wesleyan. She was an active member of HPPI and a sociology
major, while she worked on her pre-med requirements. Her goal was to be a doctor
and that started before she entered HPPI as a pre-frosh.
"Hey J.D.
I actually took the MCATs on Saturday over at Yale. They went REALLY well.
unfortunately I don't find out my score for another 6 weeks or so, but I
feel good about it.
The UCHC HPPI Med/Dent Prep program was very good - I definitely recommend it to other students. They have changed the course around so that the MCAT track is more focused on the MCATs ,with minimal shadowing of MD faculty. There is also a track which includes Anatomy, Physiology and Histology.

As for my future plans, I decided to apply to the post-bacclaureate program at UCONN. I got in - so if I get nothing below a B in any of the courses (keeping a B+ average), get at least a 27 on the MCATs and good recommendations from the staff I get into the Medical School AUTOMATICALLY. Sounds pretty good! I'm taking Biochem, Animal Physiology, Physics Logic and a Philosophy class at the Storrs campus. It sounds like alot but I think I can manage it.
