| TYPICAL DUTIES: | Reporting to the Dean of the College, the Dean for Diversity and Academic Advancement promotes educational excellence and intercultural understanding through programs that support and enrich students' academic achievements and student and faculty multicultural competence. Primary responsibilities of the dean are:

| MINIMUM DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced degree. Five or more years of leadership experience providing academic or student services in a higher education institution. Demonstrated competence in the overall planning, design, execution and assessment of diversity programming. Proven leadership and management skills. Experience setting and achieving institutional goals. Ability to think strategically, take initiative, and solve problems efficiently and effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in a disciplinary field. Experience in a liberal arts college or university. Teaching experience in a higher education institution. COMPETENCIES: Planning/priority setting, interpersonal skills, problem solving, decision making, action oriented, leadership |
