| TYPICAL DUTIES: | The Office of Institutional Research serves as a source of official data, policy research, and decision support for University administrators. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Research, the Assistant Director supports a broad range of research and reporting needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine and ad hoc data collection, data analysis, and data reporting and dissemination to answer internal and external requests, including:

| MINIMUM DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: | MINIMUM DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree. Proven experience in and knowledge of, higher education or social science research with strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent communication, organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and to work effectively and collaboratively with different members of the university community are essential. Demonstrated competence with research methods, statistical analyses, and report writing is required, as well as experience and facility in querying large databases. Proficiency with statistical software (SAS or SPSS), spreadsheets, and database querying software (such as SQL).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree. Experience conducting surveys and/or focus groups; experience using SAS, PeopleSoft, and MS FrontPage. COMPETENCIES: Organizational skills, detail oriented, written and verbal communication, action oriented. |
