For a disability of longer than six months, eligible employees may receive coverage for additional benefits provided under the University’s long-term disability insurance program, which is administered by Wesleyan’s long-term disability insurance provider in coordination with Social Security. Employees approved for long-term disability will continue to receive long-term disability benefits as long as they are medically approved but their employment will end when their short term disability expires. They will be eligible to participate in the group health insurance plan until age 65.
