NEW HIRE CHECKLIST FOR EMPLOYEES

     Have you discussed:

  • Dress code, where to park, pay frequency (i.e, weekly, semi-monthly, monthly)

  • Your contact for desktop support

  • How to set up your voice mail and the use the features of your telephone

  • Setting up your office mailbox

  • Office practices including: office hours, work schedule, overtime, phone and email usage

  • Your office/building alarm code and instructions, if applicable

  • Department safety procedures

  • Wesleyan training opportunities (ITS, department, secretarial/clerical)

  • The Wesleyan website (policies and procedures, directory, etc.)

  • Job performance and expectations

  • The performance review process – setting goals and objectives

  • The schedule for compensation and bonus payments (pro-rating, if applicable)

 

Have you received: 

  • Office keys

  • Desk supplies

  • Your job description

  • Instructions for attendance and time reporting

  • Instructions on how to use electronic employee portfolio, Eudora, meetingmaker and telephone system

  • Your Wesleyan ID card and parking sticker

  • A departmental organization chart, if available

  • Information on dining on & off campus, mail services, Freeman Athletic Center, Box Office (CFA Events)

  • A tour of your building, work area, campus buildings and/or the Admission Office tour

  • Business cards/other stationery

 

Have you completed:

  • Your benefit enrollment forms and scheduled an appointment with a representative from the Benefits Department.  Remember that you must enroll in Wesleyan’s group benefit plans within 30 days of your hire

  • Emergency contact information in the personal profile of your employee portfolio

  • Gramm, Leach, Bliley Privacy Act form acknowledging your understanding of the Act
