Minicourse:
Statistics and Data  Analysis

First session will present and overview of statistical thinking, and introduction to the commonly used statistical software package JMP.  In subsequent sessions, students will analyze prepared datasets in different ways, and work with the instructor to plan appropriate analysis of their own data.

Boards and easels will be provided for poster set up in the morning, and presenters will view each other's work.  After lunch (provided) and a talk, posters will be presented to the rest of the community and invited guests.

All Fellows will be required to participate in the first two workshops and the concluding Poster Session (marked with *). The Hughes Summer BlackBoard will be introduced at the first workshop, so students can submit and critique workshop assignments on-line by BlackBoard.
