How to begin
Wesleyan faculty, staff, or students should contact
Phil Dean,
supportd1@wesleyan.edu or x2817, the
Desktop Specialist for the Arts and
Humanities to make an appointment.
Please give 24 hours notice before the material needs to
be printed.
Pricing
Price is a function of the cost of ink. The paper charge reflects all paper used, not just the paper in the final print.
Ink set and cost
"Epson UltraChrome
K3™ ink technology represents a turning
point in the history of inkjet printing.
Inspired by our past generations of
pigmented ink technology, Epson's all
new 8-color ink set incorporates three
unique levels of black, which along with
new color pigment technology,
dramatically improves both color and
black and white prints."
Ink cost is a function of
resolution (dpi) and ink coverage.
The following costs assume approximately
40% coverage per CcMmYK channel.
720 dpi = $3.50
per square foot
1440 dpi = $4.50 per
square foot
2880 dpi = $5.50 per square
foot
Paper cost
$0.50 per square foot for Epson Enhanced Matte on a
24" or 44" wide roll
You may also supply your own
roll or sheet paper that Epson
recommends. To see Epson's recommended
paper please visit this page:

Note that we can
not guarantee printer performance with
user supplied papers, which will need to
be tested.
Other costs
All jobs include:
$1 ink maintenance charge to cover the loss of ink during routine print head cleanings.
$5 for an
optional 24 x 6 inch test strip, which confirms your job before it is run.
The default inks are Epson's Ultrachrome pigmented archival inkset
using matte black. A photo black may be substituted for use on
glossy or photographic stock.
Because the cartridge change results in a significant loss of ink, there is an additional charge of $38
to change blacks.
Payment
A Wesleyan student or department account
number, cash, or check are all
acceptable forms of payment.
