Web Page Security SystemGoal: provide standard interface for setting
permissions on web sites, regardless of authoring environment Description: To this end, Jolee created pages that are graphical representations of the security ("Permissions") interface in FrontPage (for Windows). Ravi will create the code behind them, if we decide to go in this direction. Currently, ITS is examining the WebDAV ("Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning") features in other (non-FrontPage) authoring packages, namely Adobe GoLive and Macromedia's Dreamweaver. It is probable that we will drop support of FrontPage for the Macintosh, since it is much less fully featured than the Windows product, and replace it with either the Macromedia or Adobe environment. If these products have security facilities that co-exist well with FrontPage, then this project may be permanently tabled. Back to Projects
