DIGITIZATION
SERVICES
Digitization Services supports curricular instruction by
converting and creating multimedia instructional materials for faculty use. If
you use, or would like to use, multimedia materials in your teaching activities
we can help you.
Here are just a few possibilities:
- Convert images and short audio and video clips for use
in PowerPoint or BlackBoard
- Create short audio and video clips that students can
access online outside of class time
- Scan slides to use online instead of needing a bulky
slide projector
- Digitize class lectures and presentations for future
classes
- Create a searchable Adobe Acrobat .pdf file from a
document for an assigned reading
- Scan images from various sources for a Media DataBase
collection
Typical turnaround times for curricular requests are 3 to 5
days, but larger projects may take longer to complete. Curricular projects always take priority. However, time
permitting, we can also undertake projects to support the University. These
projects are fee-based and the cost is determined by the complexity of the
project.
The Academic Media Studio and Digitization services staff
members are available to faculty seeking advice or training on existing and
emerging digital media technologies.

In addition to our services, several Ricoh copy machines are located
throughout the campus and are now equipped to copy and convert documents into
the Acrobat .pdf format. If you are not familiar with the copyright and fair
use guidelines, please visit the
Copyright section of our site for more
