Searching
European Intellectual History Database
There are three ways to search the Curl database:
- Browse field by subject
- Search by Keyword
- Advanced Search
Browse field by Subject
To browse a field by subject, select the letter of the
subject heading you are looking for to display all Curl subject
headings beginning with that letter.
Hint: Subject searching can be tricky ... you must be
using the exact term assigned to your subject to locate items
in a subject search and the term the database uses may not be
the term you would use. For instance if you were looking for
satellite images you might search under Satellites Pictures.
In fact the subject heading for satellite images is Remote Sensing
images. If your subject search turns up no records, try a keyword
search. Once you find an item that you like, look at its subject
headings and try a subject search using that term.
Search by Keyword
Enter the search term in the box below Search by Keyword and
press the search button. Your results will be displayed. On
the results page, press "Home Page" to search
for something different.
Defining Search Terms: The system will look for
an exact match and will search the following data fields: Annotations,
Additional Keywords, Discipline, Origin of site, Reason for Submission,
Subject, Submitted By, URL, URL Title, URL Type. The Advanced
Search section defines the data fields in detail.
If your search requires a more complex search, go to Advanced
Search.
