Department Website Cookbook
| home | overview | timeline |

The Department Website Cookbook provides recipes for making (or re-making )department websites. It  aims to improve the quality of existing departmental webpages by taking advantage of new and emerging web technologies and their abilities to access institutional data sources to make keeping a web page up to date as simple as humanly possible. While you can pick and choose a la carte from the menu, for the most satisfying experience, we recommend that you work with us to first establish a plan of action and a navigational scheme

Roles in the Project

The idea for this project is that there will be three major contributors to a departmental website:

1) the publications office will provide design work by helping with graphical look and feel issues, graphics, icons, type treatment.

2) ITS will provide technologies to allow the easy development and maintainance of the various components of the site

3) Faculty, departmental administrative assistants, and the library will provide 'content' using templates  and web interfaces to databases.
