Accessing Data on Dragon

Macintosh OS X Users:

To access you files on Dragon:

  1. Click on the Go command at the top of the screen

  2. From the Go Menu, select Connect to Server...

  3. In the Address box, type   afp://dragon.wesleyan.edu

  4. You will be asked to authenticate:  type in your email username and password.  For password assistance contact Operations at x2128.  To change your password, log into your E-Portfolio and select Password Manager under Tools and Links.

  1. You will see a list of all the available volumes.  Select the volume you want to access.  All faculty/staff folders are consist of the department abbreviation followed by either 'data' or 'home'.  Select the home volume for your personal data and the 'data' volume for shared departmental data.

To create an alias on your desktop for your home folder:

  • Mount the home volume for your department as described above

  • Open the volume

  • Hold down the control key and click on your own folder

  • From the menu that appears, select 'Make Alias'

  • Drag the new Alias to your desktop

You can also create an alias for your folder in the dock by simply  dragging the folder to the left-hand corner of the dock, next to the Trash.
