Logging into ITS Computer Lab PC's
-
Enter your username in the User Name box (i.e.
tsmith).
-
Enter your email password in the password
field. Contact Operations at x2128 for password assistance.
-
Be sure the Domain field is set to Wesleyan.
-
You will then be presented with a desktop on which to work.
-
When done working on the computer, be sure to log out.
Your network drive and all saved data will be available for unscrupulous
individuals if you don’t. There is a logout icon on the desktop as well as
in the “Start” menu.
NOTES:
User data saved to the desktop will now be erased at user logout. The lab
and classroom computers are not meant to be permanent storage facilities for
your work or data. The Lab machines are imaged at least once per week. The
schedule for the machine you are working on will be posted either on the
workstation housing or on the wall of the row in which it resides. As a
result all data will be lost at that time. However, in an effort to assist
students with short-term data storage of papers and the sort, placing all
data in the desktop shortcut “Student Data” will preserve your work until
the machine is imaged.
