PC Email Naming Conventions for Eudora

This page contains directions for setting the parameters for PC versions of Eudora. The parameter settings differ between version 3 and versions 4 & 5 of Eudora.  Choose the version of Eudora you have by clicking on the links below and follow the directions. If you do not know the version of Eudora on your computer, start Eudora and click on the Help menu followed by "About Eudora". This will show you the version of Eudora.

  • It is important to note that these settings DO NOT change your e-mail address - username@wesleyan.edu. They simply change the names of the central computers to which you connect to download your e-mail and the computer to which you direct outgoing mail.
  • It is also important to note that if you use Eudora on multiple machines, these changes have to be made on ALL machines.
  • If you leave mail on the server, then, all the mail that is left on the server will be downloaded again to your PC when you check your mail after you make the changes described below. If you do not want this to happen, please contact your desktop support staff for help.
