Configuring your Email program to use SMTP Port 587
WINDOWS
Eudora:
If Eudora is open, close the program
Click on the Start Menu
Click on My Computer
Double-click on your local disk (C)
Double-click on the Program Files folder
Double-click on the Qualcomm folder
Double-click on the Eudora Folder
Find the file Eudora.ini. Double-click on it and it should open in a text editor (usually Notepad)
Scroll to the bottom of the file and type in a new line: SMTPPort=587
Click on the File Menu at the top of the screen and select Save
Restart Eudora.
Outlook:
In Outlook, Click on the Tools menu and select E-mail Accounts
Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click Next
Highlight the account you wish to modify and click Change
Click More Settings
Click on the Advanced tab
In the Outgoing server (SMTP) box, type 587 and click OK
Click Next
Click Finish
MACINTOSH OS X
Eudora:
Click on the Eudora menu at the top of the screen
Select Preferences
Scroll down the left-hand window until you see Ports & Protocols icon and click on it
Change the setting for SMTP port to 587
Click OK
Mail:
Click on the Mail menu
Select Preferences
Click on Accounts at the top of the screen
Click on Account Information
Click on Server Settings at the bottom of the screen
Change Server Port to 587
Click OK
