Keying an Application
- Go to S:drive (pcsoft). Create a new folder for the application in the right category.
- In that folder, create a new folder named '_Keyedapp' .
- Go to _Keyedapp folder and create a new folder named
backup. Copy the .exe file of the application into '_Keyedapp folder as well as the 'backup' folder.
- In the backup folder, change the extension of the file from .exe to .bak
- Open the application
Keyconfigure. Username: Administrator, Enter Password. (NOTE: It may take up to 3 minutes for all fields to fill and the application to become responsive especially on the PC.).
- Go to
Licenses window. Find previous version of the application and double-click. A License Details window will come up.
- Drag the .exe file to
Programs window (the one that contains previous versions of the application). Tick Control as keyed program and Use zero footprint.
- In
Concurrent Use Limit (Floating Licences), type the number of available licenses.
- Type in 'Custom Message' field: "This application was keyed on mm/dd/yy".
- If the application doesn't have an older version, create a new license by going to File, Create Licenses and then follow the same steps (6-9).
- File, Save.
- Copy the .exe file from _Keyedapp folder (the one we just keyed) to the application folder in C: Program Files.
