Media Database Guide
Catalog search
If you have a media database account, at some point you will need to
search cataloged files, your own or some one else's. By default, all
cataloged files are available to all users of the database, so you can
include other people's media in your collections.
Select Search Cataloged Files from the main menu to bring up
the screen below. This
search returns all cataloged files in the
database which conform to your the search terms. The default search
is across all fields. To narrow a search, you may select a particular
field to search.

The Select Display
option provides choices for displaying the results of the search: thumbnail
and text, thumbnail, or a slideshow. Slideshow
presents full-screen images.
You will be able to edit any
catalog records, returned by the search, for which you have access
privileges.
Advanced search
If your initial search does not return the desired results, you can use multiple
search terms, and or change the default Boolean operators,
'contains' and 'and,' to 'equals' or 'or'. 'Equals' will narrow the
search; 'or' will make it more expansive.
