Media Database Guide
What it is and how to begin

The Media Database is a web-based service for faculty and staff who wish to create collections of images, video, audio, animations and or texts. These collections are accessible to the Wesleyan community or, if the owner chooses, to the world at large.

Users need a Media Database account and media directories on condor.wesleyan.edu to begin working. First-time users should contact their Academic Computing Manager for assistance.

Users may prepare their own media or contact Digitization Services, x4959, for assistance. It is essential that media is prepared in accordance with Wesleyan standards.

How to create a collection

  1. Prepare media files for the web
  2. Upload the files
  3. Catalog each file
  4. Create a collection
  5. Add cataloged files to the collection
