Installing Microsoft software for Macintosh from the Software Server
Note: This process can be very slow depending on the amount of network traffic and the speed of your network connection! We recommend doing installation during off-peak hours or, if you have a very slow connection, that you purchase an installation CD from the Wesleyan Computer Store for $10.
To install Microsoft Software for Macintosh OS X:
- Click on the Go command at the top of the screen
- From the Go Menu, select Connect to Server...
- In the Address box, type
smb://dragon.wesleyan.edu
- You will be asked to authenticate; type in your Dragon username and password
- You will see a list of all the available volumes. Select the volume Macsoft.
- Once the volume is mounted, open it and double-click on the MSOffice folder. Double-click on the MacOSX folder.
- Double-click the installer to begin installing the software.
