Moodle is a Course Management System (CMS), also known as a Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Wesleyan faculty can use Moodle to manage a wide variety of digital communications with their students: offering documents for download, hosting discussion forums, managing digital assignments, and more. All courses are automatically created and available for use by faculty who can control when to make it available to their students. Academic Computing Managers can assist with any aspect of Moodle usage. Training videos and much more information can be found at the Moodle Help course available in the Community Moodle section at moodle.wesleyan.edu.
Moodle is an independent, free, open-source project used by thousands of schools around the world. At Wesleyan, we run the Moodle software package and house all of the attendant data on our own servers.
