About the Software
Database
The Wesleyan Software Database is the
authoritative listing of all software managed by Information
Technology Services. It is intended to provide members of the
Wesleyan community with information about what software is
available in our Academic Computing Labs, on Faculty/Staff desktop
computers, on our UNIX computer server, and for installation on
personal home computers.
Software licensing agreements govern where
software can be installed. Some site licensed software is available to
any member of the Wesleyan community, generally for both home and
campus computers. See our EDUCAUSE 2002 presentation
about the software database. Requesting Software
Software for teaching can be requested from
the Academic
Computing Manager for your division. Research-oriented
software may also be requested, but often times a cost-sharing
relationship may be arranged in order to fund it. Once requested,
turn around time until the software is available in a public
computing lab or for faculty/staff desktops is generally four
weeks, but this is heavily dependent on when the software is
received from the manufacturer or distributor. Contact Information
