What to ask about Information Technology when choosing a college or university.

Wesleyan is a member of EDUCAUSE, an international, nonprofit association whose mission is to help shape and enable transformational change in higher education through the introduction, use, and management of information resources and technologies in teaching, learning, scholarship, research, and institutional management.

EDUCAUSE has created the Consumer Guide for Evaluating Information Technology on Campus. This guide contains a series of questions that a prospective student and parent might ask of the institutions they are considering attending. When you follow the links to the left for questions you should be asking of the school you plan to attend, you'll find these symbols:

Clicking on the bar chart symbol will bring you additional statistical information related to the question
Clicking on the notepad symbol will give you an explanation of why the question is important and other ways in which to think about the topic

Wesleyan University has made a substantial investment in technology and the results are quite impressive.  Technology is used in virtually all aspects of student life on campus. Information Technology Services (ITS) at Wesleyan University, as a convenience for prospective students, has provided answers to these questions in the precise order and format that Educause suggested.

We think we have a very good story to tell but please judge for yourself by visiting the links to the left.  If you have any questions or comments about this please feel free to send email to its@wesleyan.edu.
