How
to Evaluate this Answer |
|
|
| Administrative
Experience
All
students need to spend some portion of their time conducting the
transactional business of their college experience, such as registering
for classes, dropping and adding courses, applying for and paying
for student loans, purchasing books, and so forth. Services can
be mediated over networks to make these processes easier and avoid
lengthy lines which historically characterized all too many campus
experiences.

What
information about admission and financial aid is available online,
and can necessary forms be submitted electronically?
The College Board now provides
email addresses on their referral tapes for prospective high school
applicants. Wesleyan has created individualized web
pages that allow the prospective applicants to easily verify,
correct and submit their College Board information.
Additionally, the
Admission Office encourages candidates to initiate their applications
online using the Pre-Application form and provides them with the
option of paying their application fee online using a credit card.
Campus and alumni interview evaluations are also submitted online.
The Admission Web site contains information about high
school visits and local receptions, admission programs and policies,
information for parents, guidance counselors and high school juniors
and a virtual tour of the university. Wesleyan accepts the Common
Application, which can be submitted on paper as well as online.
The Admission Office runs a listserv for admitted students which
has been very well received. The
Dean's Office will be initiating a chat room for matriculating
students featuring scheduled
chats with University faculty and staff about topics related to
academic and campus life at Wesleyan.
Information about financial aid is
available at
http://www.wesleyan.edu/finaid.
