To Configure your Windows Computer for Automatic Update

To protect your computer from destructive viruses and worms it is critical to install the latest security updates for Windows. They can be downloaded from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com or you can configure your system to download and apply these updates automatically.

To have your system perform automatic updates:

1. Click on the Start menu
2. Click on Control Panel
3. Double-Click on System
4. Click on the Automatic Updates tab
5. Click on the check box next to 'Keep my computer up to date'
6. Click on 'Automatically download the updates, and install them on the schedule that I specify'
7. In the boxes below indicate the day and time that you want the updates downloaded. Make sure that this is a time when your computer will be on.
