WesFeed: RSS Reader Widget

WesFeed delivers up-to-the-minute Wesleyan news and other content directly to your desktop.  Headlines, Roth Blog, Connection, Classifieds, Alerts and other important information are always available, 24/7.  For PC and Mac.

Select a different feed by clicking on the tabs on the right side of the widget.

  • Headlines - read the latest news contained on the Wesleyan Homepage

Installation Instructions:

For Mac OS X Users

Mac OSX does not require additional software to run widgets.

  • STEP 1.  Click here to download WesFeed to your computer. Save this file to your desktop.
  • STEP 2. Double click on the WesFeed-Mac.zip icon on your desktop.
  • STEP 3. Open the WesFeed-Mac folder.
  • STEP 4. Double click on the WesFeed widget icon.
  • STEP 5. OS X will automatically prompt you to install the widget on your dashboard. Follow onscreen instructions.

Quick Dashboard Tips:
  • To display the dashboard or hide the dashboard press F12
  • Press the dashboard toolbar icon    to display the dashboard toolbar.  Use the toolbar to add and remove items from the dashboard
  • Press the dashboard toolbar close icon   to close the dashboard toolbar


For PC Users

PC users must first download additional yahoo widget software to run the WesFeed widget on your computer. Follow these steps to install the software and WesFeed widget.

  • STEP 1. Click here to go to widgets.yahoo.com/download and in the lower right corner of the page click on Windows under Download Manual. The “widgetsus.exe” icon will appear on your desktop.
  • STEP 2. Double click on the widgetsus.exe file. The Yahoo Widget Setup window will appear. Follow the onscreen directions to install.
  • STEP 3. A license window will appear. Click “accept” to continue with the installation.
  • STEP 4. Click here to add the WesFeed widget to your yahoo widgets.
  • STEP 5. Save the file to your desktop when prompted.
  • STEP 6. Double-click the wesfeed-pc.zip file and open the folder labeled WesFeed PC.
  • STEP 7. Double-click on the WesFeed PC files and click “open”.
  • STEP 8. Click “yes” to move the WesFeed widget to the “my widgets” folder.
  • STEP 9. When the WesFeed window opens, click “use widget”.
  • STEP 10. The WesFeed widget will now appear on your desktop. Use the “options menu” icon on your widget bar to configure the preferences for your widgets.
