Guest Wireless Access
Guest are welcome to access Wesleyan's wireless network. Wesleyan is
not an open network. For guests to have access, they must have a guest
login created by a current faculty, staff or student. Creation of guest
accounts is easy and done via the WesNetwork Guest Computer Accounts application
in EPortfolio. With this user name and password, a guest may use
Wesleyan's Internet access.
Guest users should attach to the WesGuest wireless network. This is a
WEP encrypted network. The key is: w1831
Once connected to the wireless network, users must open a browser and
login with their Wesleyan guest account credentials. Without this
step, users will not have access to the Internet.
The WesGuest network has restricted bandwidth to discourage misuse of
Wesleyan's connection. The limit is set to allow for acceptable video
quality to sustain a two-way video connection.
