  • Social Sciences Full Text - An index, with abstracts and some full text, to scholarly sources in the social sciences; covers articles published from 1984 to the present.
  • Humanities Full Text - An index, with abstracts and some full text, to scholarly sources in the humanities; covers articles published from 1984 to the present.
  • Expanded Academic ASAP - Extensive index, with many full text articles, including both academic journals and general interest magazines covering all subject areas. Some journals are covered as far back as 1980, but coverage for most titles begins more recently.
  • Arts & Humanities Citation Index - Social Sciences Citation Index - Interdisciplinary indexes covering the journal literature of the humanities or social sciences. In addition to searching for authors, titles, and subjects of articles, these indexes allow searching for articles which have cited a particular publication, and to search for articles which share one or more cited sources in their bibliographies.
  • PCI Full Text - Periodicals Contents Index lists the tables of contents (with access to some full text articles) from social science and humanities journals from as far back as 1770 to recent issues.
  • Historical Abstracts - Citations and abstracts of articles in over 2,000 historical journals published worldwide in the field of world history from 1450 to the present (excluding the United States and Canada). Covers items published since 1954.
  • PAISInternational - Public Affairs Information Service indexes articles, books, conference proceedings, government documents, book chapters, and statistical directories published since 1972.
  • MLA (Modern Language Association) Bibliography - MLA International Bibliography indexes critical scholarship on literature, language, linguistics and folklore. Coverage includes journal articles, series, monographs, dissertations, bibliographies, proceedings and other materials. The database includes all records indexed from 1963; the paper version (Olin Ref Z7006 .M64) covers since 1921.
  • Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe - Full text articles from newspapers, magazines, and other sources, covering a wide range of subjects.
  • World News Connection - Online news service offering translated and English language news and information from non-U.S. media sources worldwide.
  • Readers Guide Full Text - Citations, with abstracts, for articles in English language periodicals of general interest; covers a very wide range of subjects, but not with much depth. Indexes publications since 1983; the print version (Olin Ref AI3 .R48) covers since 1890.
  • ArticleFirst - An index of journal articles from all subject areas. Covers articles published since 1990.
  • WWW African Studies Sources - Note: It is important to keep in mind that anyone can publish information on the Internet. You need to be very careful about evaluating and citing information found on the Web. Another good way of finding African Studies resources is to use a search engine or subject directory.
