Undergraduate Honors Theses

Honors theses represent research prepared by seniors in Wesleyan's Honors Program. The earliest Honors theses, formerly called "distinction," date from the mid-1930s. The University Archives receives a single copy of each, except for certain art studio, film, and music projects which are kept by their departments.

Most honors theses can be searched in the online catalog. The most recent year's honors theses are available in the reference area of SC&A. Older honors theses should be requested in advance with a retrieval form. Honors theses do not circulate and must be consulted in the Special Collections & Archives reading room. Photocopies, except for small non-consecutive portions and bibliographies, are made only with the author's written permission, which SC&A will pursue upon request.

Additional copies of Honors theses can sometimes be found in departmental offices or in the thesis adviser's personal collection.
