Wesleyan has long recognized the relationship between the strength of the library and that of the institution as a whole. A marvelous collection of library resources has been brought together. Even so, these resources are not of the breadth and depth required to support fully faculty research in many areas.

To supplement the resources available on campus, very responsive interlibrary loan and document delivery services are provided. In addition, we have an arrangement to purchase Yale Library borrowing privileges. Yale privileges sponsored by the Wesleyan Library are available for tenure-track members of the Wesleyan faculty only. This service is not available to faculty with visiting appointments or members of the community who do not hold tenure-track appointments.

To obtain Wesleyan Library sponsored Yale borrowing privileges, one must first visit the Library Office in Olin Library to obtain a letter of referral. Borrowing privileges can be purchased in blocks of three to twelve months. Due to the cost involved, all faculty are encouraged to limit their request to those months when they will be actively working on a project requiring Yale's resources.
