A variety of sound recordings is housed in the Scores & Recordings collection, including CDs, LPs, cassette tapes, DATs, and archival reel-to-reel tapes. Sound recordings of both music and spoken word materials are collected. The World Music Archives encompasses a special collection of ethnomusicological and local concert recordings.
Sound recordings are searchable in the online database (CTW). Many local concert tapes can be found by searching for the title Concert, modified by the year, month and date, if known: such as t=Concert 1994 Apr 14.
Sound recordings do not circulate, except for CDs which circulate to faculty and graduate students for a 2 day loan period. Listening stations and headphones are available to patrons with a Wesleyan ID or a driver's license. (For more information on checking out headphones and sound recordings, click here.)
