FrontPage - Previewing Your Page |
The
"Preview" button at the bottom of the Edit Window allows you to
preview what your Web page will look like in a browser window. The
"Normal" editing mode is close to what it should look like in a real
browser, but some features such as "hidden" tables are visible in edit
mode.
But for a real test, you should use a real browser. In fact, you
should use at least both Netscape and Internet Explorer, along with any other
browsers your target audience would likely be using. To view your Web page in a
browser, point your browser to "http://username.web.wesleyan.edu/" to
access your index page. Or, go to "http://username.web.wesleyan.edu/folder/file.html"
to view a specific page. If you are editing your pages on your hard drive and
then uploading the finished product to your Condor account rather than editing
your page directly on Condor, you can go under "File" in the main menu
and select the "Open" or "Open Page" option (however your
browser labels it) and browse through the folders on your hard drive to find the
file you want to view.
Check how your page looks in different sized browser windows,
and with different settings for text or font sizes. It is also a good idea to
see how your page looks on a Mac as well as a PC, since colors can look
different.
