Running Your Slide
Show
At last you are ready to give your presentation! If you used the Pack and Go feature, running the show is
simple: insert your disk, click on the file, and let the machine do the work.
If you didn't use Pack and Go, open your presentation in PowerPoint. Click the
"Slide Show" icon in the lower right toolbar
,
or select "View" from the main menu, then "Slide
Show."
To run the show, use your mouse button and click to move to the next slide. Keep
clicking to proceed through the slides in order until the end of the show.
For
other navigation options, right click to bring up a menu of choices:
- In addition to selecting to view the "Next" or
"Previous" slides, you can select to "Go to Slide" to any
other slide in the show.
- Moving the mouse during a slide show moves an arrow around the
screen. You can turn this off in "Pointer Options." You can
also switch to using a pen to click and drag to draw on your slide.
Select from several different pen colors if you want to draw out
multiple points. Whatever you scribble on a slide will vanish when you
proceed to another slide.
- If you don't want to wait until you go to another slide,
"Screen" gives you an option to erase your pen scribblings.
In addition, you can select to make the screen temporarily go black if
your audience gets embroiled in a discussion, or so your audience will
listen to you rather than be distracted by the screen while you make
an important point.
- I won't bother to explain what the "End Show" option does,
as it should be self-explanatory.
