Digitizing Tapes

1. Turn on all needed equipment:

- the TOA mixing console (switch is in the back on the right)
- the Yamaha receiver
- the Nakamachi tape deck
- the Hafler equalizer (the tape deck is wired through it in order to be able to correct sound)

2. Make adjustments

- all input knobs should be set to the minimum except for number 11 and 12 (left and right channels) which are labeled: “Cassette Nak”. The level should be set to medium and then adjusted up if needed.
- Adjust the overall level with the output levels on the cassette deck, the equalizer, the input levels on the mixing console and the overall output levels on the console. The sound volume into the recording software on the computer should be high enough so no buzzing can be heard but should not be too high (the leds going into the red) because saturation will occur.

3. Turn off all equipment
