Planning goals include providing:
Offices for faculty in PAC - College of Social Studies, Economics,
History, Government and Sociology and space for informal student /
faculty interaction.
Facilities for the proposed Center for the Study of Public Life
principal program elements include:
collaborative research involving faculty from Wesleyan and other
institutions, New Initiatives Center, CSPL Fellowships, Non-traditional
courses in public affairs and a program of public lectures and other
forms of public outreach.
Facilities for the Quantitative Analysis Center principal program
elements include:
provision of data and support services for teaching and research,
seminars and workshops on methodology, software training, assistance
with grant preparation, data management and programming services,
development of teaching modules and data sets to be shared across
courses, provide course development assistance and coordinate
quantitative course offerings, assist students in thesis and other
research activities, provide training and tutorial help for students for
software and statistical techniques and administer a quantitative
research assistantship program.
Project Scope:
28,328 gross square feet includes attic work, demo existing post
office on ground floor, kitchen and mezzanine on first floor and deli on
second floor. Demo existing storm drains and replace with new to
handle storm water. Install access panel in roof and replace
mechanical system and ductwork. Repair roof, eaves and exterior
masonry as required. Install new offices, meeting rooms, informal
spaces and classrooms according to program.
