The addition to the East Asian Studies building located at 343 Washington
Terrace will add approximately 2,000 SF. Project Manager, Alan Rubacha of
PMG worked closely with Smith Osborne Architects located in Middletown, CT. to
create a reception space for 100 seated people, curator's office, art storage
room and examination/preparation room. The contractor selected is PAC
Group LLC of Harwinton, CT.
As of January 19, 2006 the project nears completion. We have a CO and
are completing the final A/V installations, furniture, and telecom. See
the photos below for some awesome views of the new spaces!

FEAS Great Room looking toward the garden and existing building.
WOW,
what a great view from an inviting space.
The trim on the walls is clear doug fir.

The Great Room again looking into the garden.
You can see the newly
installed LCD projector as we finish off the A/V install.

Looking from the existing building into the addition.
The "light at the
end of the hall" is the exam room.

The main entry as final touches are being made.

WOW, those are some happy A/V installers, and they're doing a great job.
Notice that screen tucked up in the soffit. Good looking install.

This is the exam room. Furniture and shelving are being installed.
We left room for shelving expansion, after all, this is a classroom and must
be flexible.

This is the curators office looking out. Shelving and furniture are being
installed.
Plenty of room for those books.
