The Fauver Field Residence Project is the result of a comprehensive
housing study undertaken by Wesleyan University Residential Life,
Construction Services, and Ayers Saint Gross - Campus Masterplanning
Consultant. Three sites were considered in the study. Fauver
Field was selected as the site for the Frosh facility. Two other
sites were considered for the Upperclass facility including the Southern
portion of the Vine Street Parking Lot and the North East section of
Warren Street prior to the final selection of Fauver Field. Fauver
Field was identified as the preferred site for the Upperclass and Frosh
student housing.
The Fauver Field site offers many opportunities including improving
both the landscape at the corner of Cross and Vine and the connection to
the community. Additionally, this location provides a much needed
connection to the core of campus at the intersection of Cross and Vine
Streets by removing the existing retaining wall, which presently acts as a
visual and physical barrier.
