If I do not pay my outstanding student account balance, will I still be able to graduate?
Only students with a zero balance as of the end of the day on May 7, 2014. will be able to receive their diploma at commencement activities. The best way to avoid a charge against your student account is to return your library books on time and avoid a fine! Please note that no requests for letters of completion from the GLS office will be honored until student accounts are paid in full. Students are strongly encouraged to check their student account through the Student Account link in their e-portfolio before the May 7, 2014 deadline and make necessary payment. The quickest way to submit payment is through the secure e-Billing link in the student e-portfolio.
I forgot to purchase my cap and gown from Broad Street Books. What do I do?
Broad Street Books will be open commencement weekend (Saturday May 23, 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Sunday May 24, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) so you can pick up your cap, gown, and hood at the last minute if supplies are still available. These items will go on sale at the end of March, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so you are more likely to find your size if you order early. The bookstore's telephone number is 860-685-7323.
When will I receive my diploma?
You will receive your diploma at the GLS reception following the commencement ceremony. For those graduates who are unable to come to campus on that day, diplomas will be mailed out to the address on record by the middle of June 2015. Your official transcript will also be mailed at this time.

GLS staff will assist you in donning regalia and will show you how to wear your hood. We will line you up in alphabetical order so you can reassemble in that order on Foss Hill.
