Directions to the Department
The Department of Mathematics & Computer Science is located on the 6th
floor of the Science Tower, on the corner of Church and Pine Streets in
Middletown, Connecticut.
From the north, take I-91 South to Route 9 South. Get off at the
Washington Street Exit in Middletown -- there is a sign for Wesleyan
University. Follow Washington Street up the hill to High Street and
take a left onto High Street. Turn right on Church Street and go up the
hill to the stop sign, which is Pine Street. On your left is the Science
Tower. To park, turn left on Pine Street and take your first left onto
Lawn Avenue, which runs behind the Science Center. Parking is usually
available there or on an adjacent side street.
From the south or the west, take I-84 East or I-91 North to Rte 66 East,
which will turn into Washington Street. After about 5 miles of typical
Connecticut driving, you will be in Middletown. Follow Washington street
until it intersects High Street at the campus. Take a right onto High
Street and then follow the directions in the preceding paragraph.
The closest major airport to Middletown is Bradley International Airport,
which is located between Hartford, CT and Springfield, MA. It is about
40 minutes away from Middletown by car in non-rush hour traffic. The
Providence, RI airport (T. I. Green) is about 90 minutes away from
Middletown by car, but Southwest Airlines flies into it, so it is often
cheaper than flying into Bradley.

into New Haven, Meriden, or Hartford, each of which is about 20 minutes
away by car.
In general, Middletown is about two hours driving time from either Boston
