Graduate Financial Aid
Each applicant for admission is automatically considered for appointment
to an assistantship. For the 2007-2008 academic year, the 9-month stipend is
$16,590, plus a dependency allowance when appropriate. All students
in good standing are given financial support for the duration of their
studies. Additional funds are usually available for the student who
wishes to remain on campus to study during the summer, for a yearly total
of $22,120. The cost of tuition is borne by the University.
The only academic costs to the students are books and other educational
materials. The University provides some subsidized housing and assists
in finding private housing. See the
Graduate Housing
website.
The health care cost for the plan taken by the majority of students
is $133 for the year. There is a Graduate Student Association fee of $20.
