Molecular Biology and Biochemistry

Molecular Biology and Biochemistry focuses on the molecular basis of life — on mechanisms by which cells process, integrate and act on information to create and propagate living organisms. We utilize technologies in molecular genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics, genomics, and bioinformatics to investigate the Central Dogma — replication of biological information, regulation of gene expression, and mechanisms of protein function. Our program is inherently multi-disciplinary, with strong research and curricular connections with biology, chemistry, physics and computer science, and promises a strong academic foundation that enables students to address diverse challenges in their future careers. We welcome students of all interests and backgrounds to join us.
