Summer Research Program
For more extensive research experience, students can apply for a Summer Research Fellowship that provides a stipend for ten weeks in the summer. The summer program also includes research seminars, skills workshops and a poster presentation session.
Students should contact potential faculty mentors by early spring semester of the year they intend to apply for a summer fellowship. Students submit applications after developing a research plan with their mentor (in early March). Please contact Maureen Snow (x 2409; email@example.com) to obtain the forms and for further information.
Students are encouraged to pursue the option of dual mentored research, particularly when considering Certificates in Molecular Biophysics or in Informatics and Modeling within the MB&B major. These opportunities encourage faculty and students to explore research at the exciting intersections of disciplines (e.g., the growing bioinformatics, which connects mathematicians and information scientists with molecular biologists and biochemists.)
