McNair Program Application
NOTE: Both Scholars (fr/soph) and Fellows (jr/sr) use the same application form, but are evaluated with different expectations.
ROLLING ADMISSIONS we review applications as we receive them, at any time during the semester.
Instructions
This Application has
three parts:
Section 1 is basic
contact information.
Section 2 is about your
family background and income. This information is required to
determine your eligibility for this federally funded program. For the questions on
financial
need, you will need a copy of your family's federal income tax return
from last year.
Section 3 is about your
academic program and goals, and will include a personal statement.

In addition to the on-line application, the following
Required Supporting Documents:
- Copy of income tax form (or explanation if none filed)
- Copy of financial award letter
- Transcript
- Names and e-mail addresses of two individuals from whom you
are requesting references. (see RefReq)

advance, here are the directions for that section:
"Insert your personal statement, answering the following
questions: What are your academic and research
interests?
Why do you want to go to graduate school? How will participation in the
McNair program fit into your long-range academic and professional
plans? Please include any research experience you may have,
and
other experiences that you have had that will help you succeed in
graduate school.
